Internal hackathon this weekend at Axiom Zen. The theme is office hacks and we’re building:
- a ping-pong score and stats tracker (inspired by Si digital) using iBeacons for player identification and capacitive touch for scoring
- bathroom status indicator
- GitHub pull request tracker – determines stats for how many pull requests for a given repo were merged without review/comment
Today I worked a little bit on the ping-pong scorer, looking at the basics of the Spark – a micro-controller that works and is flashed/re-programmed over WiFi. Very cool (even for someone who doesn’t know much about hardware).
In the afternoon, I moved over to look at the GitHub pull request tracker and worked on scaffolding a basic Node.js and Express app using Mongoose and MongoDB.
Oh, and most importantly, I got to play the new Super Smash Bros. on the office Wii U. A good Saturday then.
